quote of the week
'WHEREVER YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE.'
i realise its very easy for us to say we miss something or someone, when we are away from them. and then when we are with them, then we miss something else. eg. when i am in sin, i miss hk, when i am in hk, sometimes i miss sin. if you think of it logically, its dumb. becos at the end of the day, you are missing both. becos when you are in sin, you are thinking of hk. i have to thank a fren of mine who told me not to think of him when i am in singapore. singapore means family and singapore frens time. leave hk behind. that sentence always helps to remind me to stay in the present. i just had a wonderful dinner with my family and my aunty, uncle, my cousin and her family. i think this trip i did really well. thank you. : )
stuff like that when we write it out, it seems pretty obvious. but on an every day context, when we are all so busy and not being aware, we are just 'living' our life away in this manner. our mind is always waiting to live in the next desired moment, but when that desired moment comes, we enjoy it for a while before it gets stale, we then live with our mind thinking about how to get to the next desired moment. the cycle goes on and on.....
we work thinking that is a better job out there, we hang out with a guy thinking there is a better guy out there, i am in sin thinking about the nice cool weather in hk, in doing that i forget to enjoy the sun and the trees here. (thanks maurice, for reminding me to enjoy the sun while i can, as hk is gray.)
can you imagine if every moment is lived like that, when our last day arrives, we would definitely be regretting big time that we had actually allowed ourselves to skimp through life. everything lived on the surface. what a waste. by then it may be too late. let's remind ourselves to stay in touch with whatever we are doing at that particular moment, giving it our undivided attention. (let me eat roti prata in sin thinking of roti prata in sin and not that orange something cake in hk) body, mind and spirit in alignment.
honouring each moment as it is, totally.
